am i able to purchase a cable with ethernet connection one end and usb at other ,if so will it work ok and were the hell can i get one at 11pm at night in the uk????

If you are going about to sleep, you better ask this question tomorrow morning so you'll have a chance to go out and buy what It's appropiate for your existent problem. There's not solution by now, as you say, It's late night. But yes, you must buy a network card or dsl modem to connect usb.

I guess you have two choices. Buy a network card with an ethernet port, or buy a new router that has a usb plug.

You can purchase a USB ethernet card, or if it is a desktop machine, just purchase an ethernet card.
