If the Maximize Button is greyed out how can I resize the window(it's not full screen right now)?Thanks.

You can't.. Applications that don't allow maximization do it for a reason, either because if you resize, they layout will go out of wack, or for that certain application, you're only supposed to be restricted to that amount of space.
This completely depend on your application....

Will the double resize arrow come up if you move the pointer to the corner of the window? Then you might be able to resize....
