3 GHz and 1GB RAM, unless you get a core 2 duo, then 1.8GHz would tear a 3Ghz P4 apart. What kinda of chip do you have? i.e. P4, P D, Celeron, AMD, Core 2 duo?

Hello again waterfall - Hope you got my email reply..

Well Ram will basically allow your system to run smoother than it does now. It will mean the system spends less time moving data to and from the hard drive because it can keep more in it's virtual memory (ram). That means it doesn't have to wait for the physical limitations of hard drive read and write times as well as the head seek times.

The processor, while managing a small 330MHz increase, would still have to wait for the hard drives physical speed limitations but would be able to process slightly quicker - EG, games which are heavy on processor etc. To be honest, if your looking for a major speed increase you would be better off overhauling your entire system and upgrading everything - in otherwords a new machine.

Personally I would recommend the RAM upgrade. Whilst a new processor would make a small difference to games, the ram would also benefit games too.

Hope that helps

J

i7+6 gigs often is the main remarkable for you, there is no longer a great distinction between them 2 yet i might evaluate procuring a i7 and 6GB of RAM. yet as you probably did no longer say what photographs card i can't incredibly say might it run minecraft. it must be the final processor or RAM interior the international yet once you get a crappy GPU it does no longer run on even the backside settings. So I advise you to purchase the i7+6GB and Nvidia 650Ti or AMD Radeon HD 7770 as 650Ti is larger i might propose you procuring it in the journey that your budget is fantastically intense. yet there is no longer plenty fee distinction between them the two. i desire i replaced into valuable. RAM increases the speed of working in the PC.I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some RAM/hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.

Depends on what you want to do. RAM means you can run more programs at a time without them glitching, processing depends mostly on if you play high end grahpics games that require a lot of power.

out of this, go with the RAM
the small 0.33ghz difference won't make a difference at all
