After going through the manufacturers print head cleaning suggestion and it still prints light grey look at the document. What colour have you selected for the text in the document. Sometimes it may appear black on the computer screen but it is not quite a true black selected in the file. If this does not work.

There is one more thing to try and this is done by going into the printer preferences and manually select the ink colour for that document (example print on B/W). Some ink jet printers have a soft black ink in the colour cartridges. This black ink is not quite a full black so if printer is set to print document in colour (printer preferences) it will use that black unless otherwise directed.

Sometime it is difficult to solve these problems with one suggest. That why they call it trouble shooting. If all else fails try your users manual or manufacturers website for trouble shooting ideals.

some times if the printer has not been used for a long time ink can build up on the head of the printer causing this problem and a good cartiage cleaning sometimes clears it but at times that might not work you may need a new ink cartiage the other one might be to old or the ick might be dried out

Do a cartridge cleaning. You have that option somwhere within your printer driver utility. Depends on a printer model you own.
