Are there any non-branded drives that can be used instead of HP Personal Media Drives?

My desktop accommodates the USB 2.0 HP Personal Media Drive - are there any copies of this drive available?

i.e. they are physically the same size and use the same power supply and would fit into the media bay...

I believe that this drive is nothing more than an external HDD. So, I suppose that any other external USB HDD would work? But you never know with HP!
