I want to buy a new laptop that works well but cost $1000 or less. Anyone have recommendations?

Well i own a Samsburg Digimax A503 Camera (Digital) But i downloaded the driver for the camera that came with the camera but when i plug my camera into the computer how come the NEW HARDWARE WIZARD window dosen't pop-up is there a way to make it pop-Up???

Its a toshiba laptop, sells for $1000 canadian. Good computer for the price? It comes with a windows vista premium express upgrade for free, What is that? I can also upgrade to a 120gb hard drive and 1.73GHz processor for $100 more, is it worth it? I am a university student and I'd use it for schoolwork, internet, MSN messaging and playing the sims2

Hi there. Just turned on my PC the other night to find the monitor constantly switching to power save mode - as though there was no connection. When the monitor does show me a picture it's not quite right ie. closed screens don't dissapear properly, layers seem to integrate and virtually everytime i click on something the screen dissapears.

I have to say it's highly infuriating and i don't understand it seeing as nothing has changed from the day before where everything was working normally. The PC is still under guarantee but i was hoping to see if it might be something stupidly obvious first. I have checked all connections several times, ran a virus check and tried a different monitor. The problem still exists.

Is it possible there is a problem with the power chord? Or is it likely to be something more to do with the hardware side of things?

I'll be very grateful to anyone who can offer any help.

when i try it says that i dont have that mixer, or something and that i need to add that hardware. how do i do that, and where do i find it? could it already be on my computer? if i have to get it, can i get it ol for free? i have an emachine w2646, 2.60ghz intel celeron processor, a cd-rw, 40 gb., 256 mb. and i dont know what any of this means.

My husband and I are looking for a good system to use for playing games such as Final Fantasy online. We do not have a fortune to spend, but we want something that can be easily upgraded. Dell always has great deals, but you end up speaking to people in other countries to get help. Emachines are just too slow. HP's are overpriced due to the name. So I have no idea what the best system is. If anyone has any hands on experience please let me know?

My brother-in-law is unable to boot his computer. When he presses the power button, the processor fan spins wildly (like it should when you first turn the computer on)... but continues to spin at high RPMs, even after the standard 2-5 seconds.

Nothing ever appears on screen -- even at the BIOS level, which makes me think the problem is related to the motherboard. The motherboard is only a couple of months old though, so I find it highly unlikely that one of its components has already failed.

Any thoughts?

I am looking to upgrade my computer from the 128 ram 35gb 1244ghz unit i have at present

I use broadband a lot and download songs and surf the net of sustained periods. My current computer gets very slow after 30 mins and no amount of maintainance seems to sort it , so its got to go.

I have an HP Deskjet D1300 printer. For the last 1 year it had been working just fine. Now, from about 2-3 days I'm noticing that the pages I'm printing have a light ink patch at some places. What can be the reason? Is there anything I can do to solve this problem by myself?
