My husband and I are looking for a good system to use for playing games such as Final Fantasy online. We do not have a fortune to spend, but we want something that can be easily upgraded. Dell always has great deals, but you end up speaking to people in other countries to get help. Emachines are just too slow. HP's are overpriced due to the name. So I have no idea what the best system is. If anyone has any hands on experience please let me know?

pick parts at www.cyberpowerpc.com You only need basic knowlege, and they put it together for you as well as testing it to make sure it works. I had one made with better specs than the one Dell wanted to give me, for somewhat cheaper. I'd be glad to offer further help or advice, so feel free to contact me.

The following sollution is NOT CHEAP, but it's a monster when used for gaming: Alienware has -the- best computers on the planet.

After that, it's simply the components that count, and the quantity thereof. Focus on Processor, RAM and Graphics Card.
Good brand names: Nvidia, Corsair, Pentium, Fatal1ty, Gigabyte, MSi. The name on the case (Dell, Compaq, etc) does NOT matter. It's inside that counts.

i dont think HP's are overpriced at all. I actually prefer them over dell and have been around computers for over a decade.

you can customize a very good HP for cheap, and its even better when they have deals going on (which is usually most of the time).

otherwise, this company is pretty good with prices and good components. higher quality. http://www.ibuypower.com/mall/lobby.htm

good luck! make sure whatever you get it has a very good processor. you can always upgrade RAM and video cards later very easily. OH, better to have the video card seperately, rather than built in. make sure the motherboard has AGP slot.

Any computer is good enough. Be sure to get one with a good graphics card (with approx 128-256MB on-board memory)
And, 512MB- 1GB RAM

And of course a good internet connection :)
