Again with the dvd writer, I am buying one for my husband, he wants an internal one. How do I know what kind of internal connection he has on his computer???

There isn't a particular kind of internal connection between dvd burners. They all use IDE. So as long as it says "internal" on the box, it should work.

Internal means: Its internal to your Computer and you can only eject the DVD out of your DVD player and its Inside your compter cabinet

External means: You have an External DVD Drive, which you use it to connect to your Computer, Like an Ipod for Example..

Lets take example of your Computer Power supply, Its Internal becos its inside your computer and you need to remove your computer cabinet to remove it ..

Ipod is external becos you just connect it outside to make it work

the y all hookup the same way with a mutiline cable thats flat and can only go in one way and it will be with it and be sure to read the manual and set the dvd as a slave with the jumper pin
