intel centrino is a Processer from Intel. Its one of the Makes they have come out with and have Higer Performace power compareed to other.

Some Processers are designed for Laptop becos they need to be small and some can be large as they are for desktop.
So Intel Centrino is for is a Mobile Processor for Laptop
Intel Core Duo processor is optimized for multi-threaded applications and multitasking. You can simultaneously run multiple demanding applications such as graphics-intensive games or serious number-crunching programs - while downloading music or running virus-scanning security programs in the background

People seem to forget that there is an Intel Core Duo and the higher-performing Core 2 Duo (notice the number 2). There's also the Pentium D as a dual-core processor.

These differ from earlier pentium processors in that they are essentially two processors in one. Makes multitasking that much easier. The centrino, as the others mentioned, is a mobile (laptop) processor.

The Intel Centrino is the processor brand used in laptops and mobile computers. They won't fit in regular desktop computers.
Then you get the Intel Core Duo, which, essentially, is the new technology sweeping over the world. It means the processor has two cores, i.e. it can handle double the load of a normal Pentium 4 Processor. Then you get the office-reject of all processors - the Celeron. It has 90% of all the Pentium 4's features REMOVED, and it can NOT handle multi-tasking at all. It's strictly for office work - no games, music or movies for it.
Then you get the AMD series processors... But I'm no expert on AMD, I'm affraid.

Hope this info helped :)
