I'd like to keep it down until I need to use it to copy my master drive and I'd like to be able to do it without going into the box each time. I have disabled it in "disk management", but I don't think this keeps it from spinning, does it?

Although I uninstalled the previous ATI Catalyst control centre and Drivers and rebooted my XP pro 64 machine prior to installing the Nvidia XFX garphic card. I find I have a conflict that the ATI catalyst software is still on my machine! It will not uninstall from file or via add remove! Is there a way forward without reformatting my drives? Please enlighten me..

And I can put the ink into the cartridge myself, and not pay someone else to do it? Its for a franking machine, with Pitney Bowes cartridges.

I use an Intel P4 desktop computer. I had some porblems with BIOS password that's why I decided to put off the CMOS battery and replace it again. now, when i turn on my computer, the first page of BIOS comes, then it freezes on the next page when the machine is going to determine the devices. I use Microsoft Windows XP 32bit O/S. but when i turn on the computer, the Window's logo doesn't come on my screen! The machine, proceeds and it stops just before where the logo has to come up! what's the problem?

eversince some guy cleaned my computer, my computer couldn't show simplified chinese. Usually I just have to install it when im surfing on a chinese web site but now it asks me to insert Compact Disc labeled "Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM" OR click ok to copy files for an alternate location such as floppy disk or network server.

the insurance company has forwarded the computer equipment part of the claim to a company called National Vendor. They are attempting to replace my computer, which is fine. The problem is that I had a HP pavilion series and they want to replace it with a Dell Dimension 5150 series.

Does any one have any pros or cons about either Dell, the computer, the support or anything?

Or would you suggest they pay me the replacement value of the computer and purchase my own?

All and any help will be appreciated.

I have Assembled PC at my home. It has 512 RAM. There are two hard disks one is 80GB and the other is 120GB. 80GB hard desk has windows server 2000. I am able to work on server 2000 and not able to work on windows XP which is in 120GB Hard disk. I am not sure whether the problem is with Operating system - windows XP or with RAM. I want to upgrade for 1GB RAM. Please suggest what to do.

Basically when I start to boot up, it'll give me a blank screen. On the second attempt, it'll boot up but give me an error message 'overclocking failed'.
I haven't tried to overclock it.

Hye All,

I just installed my new motherboard (MSI-K8 based) and processor AMD Athlon 2800+

Along with RAM 256MB, but the thing is that display is not coming on the monitor and nor the system is booting.

Fans are working but the monitor only shows dimmed light, and also, red light of the CPU is always on (never blinks)

Please help me out, what could be problem??

i have canon bjc 210sp printer and I installed it in windows XP since the printer drivers already present in this OS pack , printer was automatically installed. i have a problem that i am unable to decide the level of my printer ink. since it helps me to when to refill or get a new or the prints or not good becoz of other problems rather than the ink being less. it happened to me last time the prints where not good and then there where no prints i thought the ink is completely used up and i went for a refill, but that was not the case there was a problem with the nozzle and the main point is that there was enough ink left for a good number of printouts, . I tried the normal method of finding the ink levels in printers--> device settings but its not listed there ,thus thats a bit pain for me. can any one help me out to know whether it is possible to know the ink levels with other drives or other methods if so plz mention thank you.

Both require drivers which are installed. But i have a plug and play type mouse that works without rebooting.

bottom of laptop has a spot that is warn from the heat and the lower left handside heats anything up that sits near it. the bottom also has a panel that is starting to warp. very concerned. computer is less then 2 years old.

It's a stand up CPC that won't work, I now have a laptop and someone told me to "just take the HD" (hard drive I assume) "out and run it along side the one in your laptop". Can this be done easily by me or will it have to goto a shop, the laptop s still under warrenty, so I'm thinking it's a job for the shop I got it from.

I'm not very computer minded so take care.

My new computer came with no AGP slot but does have an open PCI slot my old graphics card is much better than the integrated graphics that came with my new machine. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 9200 agp card is there some form of agp to pci slot adapter? Thanks for the help.
