winrar is better

first you need to install a program called winzip(http://www.winzip.com/) and during installation make sure when asked to set your preference to winzip wizard(not classic) as the wizard is the easiest to use
then once this is done ,any zip file you click on will activate winzip, but remember to press"use evaluation version"as this is the trial mode, and even after the trial period you still can use it
there is another zip program,winrar(http://www.win-rar.com/)
this is a free zip program but winzip is much easier to use
good luck

if you use windows XP there is a program integrated in there (so you could just browse to the .zip file)

if not (or it doesn't work) use 7-zip http://www.download.com/7-Zip/3000-2250_4-10539225.html?tag=lst-0-1

its freeware and you can unzip almost all archives with it (or make them)

Use the WINZIP or the WINRAR software program.
These are available for a free download at www.download.com.
