i have canon bjc 210sp printer and I installed it in windows XP since the printer drivers already present in this OS pack , printer was automatically installed. i have a problem that i am unable to decide the level of my printer ink. since it helps me to when to refill or get a new or the prints or not good becoz of other problems rather than the ink being less. it happened to me last time the prints where not good and then there where no prints i thought the ink is completely used up and i went for a refill, but that was not the case there was a problem with the nozzle and the main point is that there was enough ink left for a good number of printouts, . I tried the normal method of finding the ink levels in printers--> device settings but its not listed there ,thus thats a bit pain for me. can any one help me out to know whether it is possible to know the ink levels with other drives or other methods if so plz mention thank you.

Ink levels are just a page counter. Pretty much useless. Use your eye. When you start to see your print fading replace or refill cartridge.

Depends on the printer, you can find the level of ink in cartridge by going to print dialog box. Click on the properties button and see if there is a tab or something that is related to ink level. Click on that and you might see a little graphic that shows the level of ink in the cartridge has been used.
Also it is a good idea to run the cleaning procedure once in a while to keep the nozzle heads from clogging.

whenever i order a print, and the window comes up that says "printing started", there is a gauge on there that shows how much ink is left. try that.
by the way, you can get ink refill kits at walmart for about $9 and do it yourself. it's important to do it before the ink runs completely out, because if it's completely out the heads will melt due to extreme heat, and the cartridge will be trashed
