I have a lot of remote users on my network, mostly in sales. They communicate into our business through Citrix VPN software, and from time to time (with certain people) they call in and complain of their applications not responding, and I am wondering if it is their internet connection on their end.

Instead of having them open a command window and PING something to see if they are live, are there any quick little apps out there that monitor your internet signal, and maybe flashes something on the screen or in the System Tray if the connection is broken? Like something that just displays a RED dot or a GREEN dot. This would be very helpful and save me SO much time having this as a tool for my end users to look at.

i dont have a router, so dont waste my time telling me i need one. im not allowed to get a router because all the computers
& my laptop are hooked up to this one thing in my dads office and if i got a router, it would go there, which means all the computers would get wireless, but only my laptop would benifit from it, the other computers are regular not laptops so the wireless would be no use. if theres another option, let me know. ALSO THE PROBLEM IS:

i wanna connect to a network. most are secured, but if one isnt, how do i connect to it? IT NEVER WORKS. i try, but it doesnt work. I WANT INTERNET WHEN I DONT HAVE IT PLUGGED IN! pppleeeassee help! thanks

I recently got a wireless system so I can run both my laptop and desktop off the same system. The problem has become that when I cut off the desktop computer my wireless doesn't want to work anymore? The desktop is what the wireless was set up through though. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just set up everything as the box said don't really see why this would happen. Any suggestions let me know.

Okay, i totally disconnected everything.

now i have a Dlink ethernet broadband router too...

so, i have a blue cable in that which is connected to my phone jack, a white cable which is connected to my linksys router in the internet port and a black wire which is connected to an outlet.

as for the linksys router, i have the power cord which goes to the outlet , i have the ethernet cable in slot 1 which goes into the back of the computer in the ethernet slot and that white wire connected to the dlink as i previously stated. what am i doing wrong.
