Dell came out and swapped the motherboard, since the connection is intagrated. But, as per dell tech support, no change....Any ideas what this could be and how to fix it???

You probably now have a 100BaseT port instead of 10BaseT port. If the connection is working, an amber LED usually indicates that the Ethernet is running at 100Mbps. Assuming the color is really amber, not red.

Red is usually used to indicate collisions. I haven't seen a NIC in years with a collision indicator LED.

10Mbps LED = green
100Mbps LED = amber

The LED is called the "link light".
