I finally Figured out how to share regular folders under Windows Vista. When I go to share any folders under Computer > C Drive > Programs I can't share the folder. The button to share is greyed out (so I can't click it). Any suggestions as to what I need to do about that?

All of my filesharing options are ON, and I can share other folders (From Desktop or My Docs etc). I can access advanced sharing on my C-drive or program files, but not the regular share that allows me to set users. And this seems to be whats stopping me from accessing the folder from other computers.

I tried sharing the entrie C Drive, same problem. I also checked the permissions under the security tab, and they are set to full control so there are no limits on the C drive or my program folder.

you could try sharing the whole drive .... but that would be a security risk ... and Yahell will probably see it as a breach of their T&C's that I'm trying to undermine security on Vista and send me another violation for offering an opinion .... so if you don't see me again ... I'll be at Guatmo

Go to control panel and click on network and sharing - then click on the file sharing buttons.
