I have a unattached in-law unit on my property. I would like to extend my wireless internet to the unit. The In-law unit is not more then 150ft away or so, but between multiple exterior walls and appliances , not all of the in-law unit has wireless. The far end of the unit has weak and usually no coverage. I have been looking at the PoE devices but they seem pretty slow. Advertise like 200Mbps but really only do about 75Mbps. Can someone reccommend something they use for wireless networking. Basically I want to avoid running Cat-5 to the unit, because that would require jackhammering the patio to run the wire to it.

I'm in France on exchange for a year. Unfortunately, there's no internet connections in the rooms. But there are spots on campus for wifi. Me, and the American students, have bitched about the internet situation and have tried to find solutions. We have other adjustments to make, among other things. But this is our main concern. The wifi connection isn't terribly far from me. I would say between 500-1000 feet from my dorm room. Is there any way that I could pick up this connection from this range? Maybe a usb wireless card or just a regular wireless card for my laptop? I don't want to buy one unless there's a possibility it will work. Any answers would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Im really confused. I recently joined Virgin Media and was sent the cable modem to connect to the internet. I also brought a Belkin wireless router so that me and the rest of my house mates can connect to the internet. The only problem is that they can all connect to the internet wirelessly except for me! because I have the cable modem and wireless modem in my room. So now I have an ethernet cable connected to the wireless modem and my computer. How can I connect to the internet wirelessly like everyone else without this ethernet cable??

Here is the setup. I have a PC and a laptop both with Windows XP Pro that I networked with a standard Linksys router (wireless). I have 2 printers currently plugged into my desktop, shared so I can print from both computers.

I have a Lexmark all in one and a Epson injet printer. Doing peer to peer print sharing seems kinda buggy with windows XP. Is there a device I can use to plug these printers into my router and share them that way? Neither printer has a data jack, only standard USB print cables.

What I am looking for is reliable hookup and flexability to move the printers to a different location. Currently with Peer to Peer, nearly 1/2 the time I can't print from the laptop.

i have a wirlessr router. and my room mate cant get it. Her room is too far away maybe? The router is up stairs, and her room is down stairs, around 50 feet away. Does it have to be a certain kind of router, to pick up that far? thanks
