I live in a college dorm. I used to be able to see everyone else's shared iTunes music back when my laptop was just plugged into the ethernet in the wall. But I got a wireless router and started using it and now I can't see anyone else's music. I there a way that I can while still using the wireless?

Has anyone heard of this problem: at my apartment I have a wireless router using a DSL connection. My wife when she was working at home alone was able to use her IBM thinkpad laptop with the wireless network and the network never went down. Now I am working at home, using my HP Pavillion ZE4900 laptop and the wireless network goes down a lot. This past weekend, she and I went to my father's house and he also has a wireless network where he works also on a laptop, also an IBM Thinkpad. When my wife was using her laptop, the network never went down. When I started up my laptop and tried to connect to the Internet, no one in the house could connect to the Internet. We had to disconnect the DSL modem multiple times in order to get the internet back. This morning, I chose not to use my laptop and neither my wife nor my father have had any connectivity issues, and not once did they have trouble accessing the Internet. Anyone with an idea of what's going on here?

I am having trouble to get the port forwarding working on my buffalo airstation WHR-HP-G54. I followed the instructions and enabled NAT and configured the ports. But it didn't seem to work. When I look into the log file, it says that the connection to the port that was configured to forward was denied by the firewall. I can't seem to find the menu to configure the firewall to allow that port. What should I do?

Thanks

I just purchased a d-link wbr 2310 router to share the internet connection on my desktop to my laptop. both computers can now connect to the internet no problem. however, i noticed that when i try downloading big files (50 MB up) the download never finishes and stays at around 50%. One time it only downloaded 4%. I was able to finish downloading a 20 MB file but that was the biggest file i could download. I thought this was only on the laptop but the same thing also happened to my desktop. This has never happened before i installed the router so something must be wrong with my setting or setup. router firmware is updated but it didn't help. Any ideas on this?. Thank you.

I have a belkin n1 vision, one of the best most expensive routers on the market. I had it paired with a n1 adapter, that way i received the full 300 mbps

I recently upgraded to vista,(64 bit) and now my adapter wont work. Can anyone link me to a good network adapter that is compatible with 64 bit vista? 300 MBPS one would be nice, but at least over 100 mbps would be preferred.
The current one I have is USB, but a PCI card(internal one) will work fine.

Thanks!

I have checked the Belkin site, they only have a beta 32 bit driver which really screwed my machone when I installed it(so i removed it)

I have set up a 2 PC network using a crossover ethernet cable. I have an ADSL modem I have followed the microsoft instructions at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;306126 to set up the sharing of the internet connection. I have manually configured the IP addresses. However, despite the fact that the network is set up and working, the client computer cannot access the internet or email. Why? I'm going nuts. The host computer has no problem accessing the internet but it's not trying to access it over the network.
