Suppose I am using Microsoft IIS, when we request a aspx page, it is processed at server side & html response is generated for the client, but if we request for an exe or any other file, server does not processes anything, it simply sends the requested file to the client, & we can download that file as a popup is generated in IE which has option for Save to Disk.

My question is that, what HTTP method is used to directly return the requested file to the client without processing anything.

If you are using a router odds are you will have a local ip of 192.168..0.0-192.168.255.255 and the NAT in the router translates to your actuall IP assigned by the ISP

but if you just have a modem you do not have the private ip of 192 do you???? just the ISP ip correct?

I report all my pings to Hackerwatch.org but, I get no results. I get Pinged about 50 times a day. It started 4 days ago. All the Source IP-Adresses that hit me start with 10.137.x.x When I Trace the Ping, it shows one computer. Also, all of the D.Ports # are 445. I have Banned about 100 IP-Addresses so far but, the Pings still come. Help Help Help

My entire family is spread out around the world and as we travel a lot we never seem to have the right files with us when we need them. Is there a way to access our external hard drives at our house without having a computer next to it hooked into it. Also I've been hearing about using a VPN network, if that's what I need, how do I set it up (Step-by-Step)? Also if there isn't a way to do this securely without a computer hooked into it I still need to know how to access the Hard Drive and files via the internet.

I have BT broadband and the downstream speed on the hub is typically 2.9 Mbit/s on our normal phone extension but if I plug it into the master socket it increases to 3.7 Mbit/s. I can't move it there permanantly thought because there's no plug socket nearby! Aside from replacing the internal telephone wiring there is a second unused line and I wondered if anyone knew if this could be reducing the broadband speed at all?
