No im not trying to connect to a neighbors connection if i were then i would be polite enough to ask them can i use it. and i mean that when i am hooking up through wired it has that little triangle with the ! in the middle and says little or no connection. i understand your meaning for thinking i thought it was wirless i should have cheaked my answer more carfully.

To me it sounds like your SpeedStream is not validating on the ISP and therefore not getting an IP address issued. Thus the "Limited or no connectivity" or "Low Connection".
Here is a help page for them from Yahoo although this is for ATT / Yahoo dsl it is also relevant for other dsl providers.

And here is one from DSL reports.

Hopefully one of these will help.

the speedstream 5260 is a ethernet adsl modem. It has no built in wireless abilities. When you say Low connection that is refering to a wireless connection not a wired connection, as they will either be 10MB or 100MB connections, either on or off, no in between.

Do you hve a wireless router connected to it? If not are you refering to wireless or something else?

If you are refering to wireless and you dont have a wireless router connected to the speadstream then i WOULD SAY YOU ARE TRYING TO CONNECT TO A NEIGHBORS WIRELESS NETWORK THAT IS SOME DISTANCE AWAY, THAT IS WHY YOU SEE A LOW SIGNAL.
