I report all my pings to Hackerwatch.org but, I get no results. I get Pinged about 50 times a day. It started 4 days ago. All the Source IP-Adresses that hit me start with 10.137.x.x When I Trace the Ping, it shows one computer. Also, all of the D.Ports # are 445. I have Banned about 100 IP-Addresses so far but, the Pings still come. Help Help Help

I have to tell you that 10.137.x.x are all PRIVATE ip addresses not internet addresses. See the following
http://www.jpsdomain.org/networking/nat.html

That means these are addresses within a LOCAL network. If your ISP is issuing NAT addresses like 10.137.X.X to you then these pings are coming from the local network and I would call your ISP and have a chat. The reason Hackerwatch isn't giving you any results is these are not internet attacts they are LOCAL!

Many ISP's are using NAT addresses for clients, it helps protect you from internet attacks. In this case this could even be your ISP checking for live addresses as a quality test.

Since a ping isn't a big issue (really) why not just NOT respond to them! Get yourself a router and turn off ping responding problem gone!

Added:
I almost forgot. If you have a LOCAL network of your own and are already behind a router -- these are comming from your own network so find the machine and unplug it then find why it is sending pings.. can be a trojan or a virus.

Pining is quite often a fashion of computersnodes speaking with one yet another then to ping a working laptop or pc is often just to get a reaction! apart from Pinging is quite often used diagnostically to make valuable that a bunch computernode you're attempting to realize is actual operatingactive. If, case in point, a consumer won't be able to ping a bunch, then the consumer would be no longer able to apply the report pass Protocol (FTP) to deliver documents to that host. Ping can be used with a bunch it rather is working to work out how long it takes to get a reaction returned! a ramdon request from an unsoliciated node from a hacker devoid of a few firewall risk-free practices would desire to bypass away you pc susceptible, via fact then they might use different the right thank you to attack vulnerabillites making use of trojans etc. Pinging is a protocol used earlier different protocols like FTP won't be able to completely be activated devoid of the ping reaction earlier the different protocol request from a FTP case in point this may well be denied via fact it hasnt replied interior the 1st place! maximum firewalls workstation's are a splash extra savvy, via fact it rather is whats interior the packet of infomation, frames and each thing else via undeniable fact that's the commencing up of each and every protocol makes use of, packets, frames and each thing else! each and every incorporates revelant information approximately your pc if it became unsolicated it would in basic terms no longer be recgonised and your pc might relay the infomation returned in a blunders. wish this permits,

If you really care, you need to get a decent firewall setup where you can block ICMP packets. The pings are coming from would-be hackers, and you can't stop them. But you can control whether they get a response or not.

After you fix that, you can stop the port-scans of your network :-)

You could file a complaint with the pinger's ISP for them to quit--especially if it comes only from one computer on that server. Install a good firewall and antivirus.
