My laptop can't connect to the internet and one of the wireless network says "Linksys". When I click it, it says to put a network key. Help!

It means someone has a Linksys wireless router. (The default network name is Linksys) The person who owns the router has entered a security key to encrypt it and keep hackers out.

If you are not hacking into the router, ask the owner what the key is. Otherwise, get your own internet access.

Linksys must be the brand of your wireless router. You need to put in a password in order to connect to it and use the internet.

Hmmm. That wireless network wouldn't happen to be someone else's, now, would it? Maybe someone who just secured it with an encryption key?

Methinks you might have just been caught with your hand in the cookie jar.

Is it your wireless network? if yes then it is requiring your WEP key which will be on your router. if it's not your internet connection then quit being a tightwad

you are trying to connect to a secure network that is not yours. try searching for a unsecure network or buy your own service.
