I'm looking for a freeware program for creating a VPN for personal use. I want something that is user friendly and can move faster than a frozen snail.

You need a VPN Server + Client for effective secure connection. VPN Servers are not very easy to configure.

You could try to use OpenVPN from http://www.openvpn.org which is a free VPN Software.

The easiest way to secure your connection is to use SSH Server + SSH Client to connect.

You could then tunnel connections using the Secure encryptions.

Read about sshd.

What do you mean by "for personal use?"

If you want to access your PC remotely, try:

http://www.logmein.com

If you want to access another user's PC remotely, try:

http://www.crossloop.com

If neither, please re-post with specifics.

Then, we can try to help.
