Computer Networking - September 2007

I am pggiybacking the only network around, and it comes in very weak and sometimes disconnects. I already have the antenna up to an open window. Is there anything I can do such as hooking a wire to the antenna?

I don't want a computer serving the devices, I want them to be available no matter what computer in my house is running. Just needs to be Ethernet and able to host many USB devices including printers, hard drives.

I m using Microsoft Windows XP SP2 as OS and i m using IIS 5.0 as web server. I want to change the setting for maximum clients can be connected through web server in Intra net. I have read many articles about this problem and ends to find a property maxclients. But unable to find the location where it is specified. Please do help me to solve this problem so my work goes on.

I stripped it down and didn't see the standard orange, blue, green and brown... Instead it is orange, brown, greyish and clear.

i have a laptop right now and my brother has a desktop in his room. wel his computer is supposed to send a signal to mine and give me internect connection, but now my computer picks up other wireless conections that is not mine so i need my computer to get connected again to the one in my house. can someone help?

I have a Trendnet TEW-424UB wireless adapter. The problem I'm having is every time I restart my computer it connects to the network fine, but does not get an IP address. You have to repair the IP connection every single time you start up the computer. It usually doesn't work the first time, but does after trying a few times. Is there any way to get rid of this annoyance?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, and the customer service was no help at all.

I have had verizon DSL for 3 or so months and never had any issuses all of the sudden I started getting static on the phone lines then this morning whenever I went to pick up the phone my internet droped. I have one line in the house, from the wall jack I have the 1-for-1 adapter on one side I have the internet cord and on the other I have a DSL Filter going to another 2-for-1 adapter and two phone lines in that. That way did not start giving me issuses up unto afew days ago. When I unplug the internet phone line the static goes away, and when someone uses the phone the Internet Dropes.

Verizon Tech support said the the filter went bad, I tryed all five that they sent me when You first get the service and I still get the static, they said it could be a bad pack and wanted me to order more.

Does anyone think that this is it or it is something else?

Getting a new computer for parents and wonder if it can connect just by plugging in the cable from modem - router without any additional software or configuration. I believe my own winXP did but was 2 yrs ago and not sure. This is not a wireless system btw..I know it was a mess with win 95 and 98 as I recall. The easier it is the better.

I want to move into a new condo in Thailand. They have Wifi and I will be the only one on the network for now but in the future there might be more people moving in.

And then we will be sharing the signal, will that slow it down or it makes no difference on Wifi how many people are piggy backing the signal?

I have a Buffalo Technology Wireless-G High Speed Router (WHR-G125) and does this router work with the Buffalo Technology Wireless-G 125 High-Speed USB Keychain Adapter (WLIU2KG125S). Also, will it work if I have the computer upstairs while the router and cable modem is upstairs and the USB is connected to computer...will that give me wireless connection/internet?
