I have a Buffalo Technology Wireless-G High Speed Router (WHR-G125) and does this router work with the Buffalo Technology Wireless-G 125 High-Speed USB Keychain Adapter (WLIU2KG125S). Also, will it work if I have the computer upstairs while the router and cable modem is upstairs and the USB is connected to computer...will that give me wireless connection/internet?

yes, most likely it will get the signal and you will have internet access, but it won't be that fast. you will not get 54mbps. you might get half that at best. this will significantely slow down web browsing

In the wireless devices manual, it should say the allowable range.

With any wireless device, regardless of what it is, there are limitations on it's effective range.

A MicroSoft wireless mouse for instance, has to be within 3 feet of the receiving unit.

Now if the receiving unit for your wireless router is upstairs next to the computer, and connected to the router and cable modem downstairs, then it should work.

The answer is, it should work. However, wireless connections depend on the placement of the router and the computer, and to some extent the construction of the house. Best way to find out is to try it.

It should, but consider this: If, for convenience, you permit wireless access to your router's administration pages (NOT wireless Internet) rather than confine such access to cabled computers, you're also opening up your router to potential hijackers.

I'd suggest leaving an ethernet cable dangling from one of the router's ports and hook up to it, if possible, when you need access to the router's admin.
