I have a linksys wrt54g router that I am trying to connect to the internet. I am using ethernet connections to two computers. I can access both computers, but neither computer can access the internet. The router has the upgraded firmware, and all connections are good. I have done a complete power cycle and reset and still doesnt work. I have Verizon dsl, and have determined the router to be the problem. please help!

I have two routers. Router A(conn. to internet), and router b (diff. network). I have connected one of the available port of Router A to the wan port of router B. Router A IP is (192.168.1.x) and router B (192.168.2.x) with same subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

From my PC on my router B, I can remote and ping PCs on router A, but when I am on PCs on Router A, I can't ping/remote PCs connected to router B.

I have a linksys BEFW11S4 version 4 router. (I know it is crappy, but someone stole my good one). My computer does not recognize it, says I need to install a driver, can not find a driver, etc, but obviously my computer runs internet through it.

I have Vista and no install CD-- how do I get the computer to recognize what kind of hardware it is? Or, where can I get a driver? I followed instructions on linksys.com, but when I go to the IP address and enter the password they say, it says invalid.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

In Windows Xp you were able to mouse over the connection icon and it would say at what speed you were connected at. But with vista it does not seem to give any information. I was wondering if there is a setting to change or somthing that would give that information. I am not interested in doing it by connnecting to a website and doing a download test or somthing like that though.

Hi, I started having problems using my WIFI on my laptop when I tried connecting to a network in another country. (Canada). Now I'm back in California making this work. It gives me an error message like, "cannot connect to website server" and it tells me to check my firewall settings, I did, but it's still not working. I might have changed the network settings when I was trying to get it to work in Canada. Anyone, please help me solve this problem. Thanks!

I am trying to setup and configure multiple access points with Netgear Switch for motel business. Currently the business has one modem and one Wireless Netgear WPN824 Router. I was told you would need a server to setup and configure multiple access point. but i do not understand why you would need a server? Is possible to setup and configure multiple access points on Netgear Switch? If not possible, what is another way to setup and configure multiple access points?

Here is the scoop. In my school we have 3 computer labs, each with 30 computers. All of these connect to a new Dell Server running Windows Server 2003, standard edition.

The server is setup as a file sharing printer and a print server.

Before the school year, we decided it would be nice to not have to walk the kids through setting up the printer, so we logged onto the client machines locally, and added the network printers, beliving that when the students logged on, the printer would already be installed on that machine.

Turns out we were wrong. So, I logged onto a computer, through the domain, with admin access and setup the printer. Still, when students log on, there are no printers installed.

So, my question is... how do I set this up so that when a new user logs on, the printer is already installed?

Thank you!!!

Okay, I finally bought my new laptop computer with Vista Home Premium and I am absolutly in love with this thing. I couldn't believe that it was originally a $600 machine and I got it for $449 and with taxes $491.98 all at Best Buy yesterday. 1G of memory, Duel Core processor, wireless internet, vista premium, DVD Rom...etc.

Anyway when I try to connect to my wireless network at home it finds the signal and everything but when I try to connect it says can't connect and then diagnose the problem and then it says Windows can't connect because it's not picking up a response to the wireless router or an access point. However it connects fine with other networks. All the unsecure networks around my house and even the one at the College Library. It just won't connect to my home network. Can someone please tell me how I can fix this.

Also if your looking for a laptop and your on a budget I strongly recommend this lapto. Nice big screen and everything is crystal clear. Very fast laptop.

I am on my 3rd router in 4 years. Its taken me this long to go through 3 because I don't have time to buy new ones every 3 months which is how frequently they stop working.

I had first a linksys with this problem after 1 month. Then I bought a netgear which had this problem after 1 month. The problem with these two was they would stop broadcasting the wireless.

Now I have a DIR 655. Had it for just over a month (so now I cant friggen return it easily). It drops the damn connection, then it reconnects. It goes in and out. I don't have any security enabled other than mac filtering. And it worked fine for 3 weeks so its not interference from anything in or around my house.

WTF anyone else have these damn problems?

Several train companies in the UK (and elsewhere I presume) now offer wireless internet on board.

I regularly use the internet on board GNER trains, and although it is very slow and regularly disconnects it is still useful.

I am curious to know how the moving train is able to connect to the internet? Does it involve some kind of satellite connection, or the mobile phone network, or is the signal sent down the overheard power lines?

I need to extend by 802.11b Netgear WiFi router to the signal can reach my living room on the other side of my "Faraday cage" of an apartment. The signal from my WiFi router almost reaches but it's quite strong enough for consistent Internet connection.

I assume adding a WiFi signal repeater and pluging it in half way between the two rooms is the solution. I'm mainly going to be using the signal for a Xbox 360 and my laptop.

Are there any "gotchas" about using repeaters for WiFi? Any models that are recommended by folks here?

I wanted to know will the signal strength be strong enough for the PC to work considering the distance is so much.

So I want to know how to get it on the internet so other ppl can look at it. I don't want to have to redo all the stuff I did.
