Hi, I started having problems using my WIFI on my laptop when I tried connecting to a network in another country. (Canada). Now I'm back in California making this work. It gives me an error message like, "cannot connect to website server" and it tells me to check my firewall settings, I did, but it's still not working. I might have changed the network settings when I was trying to get it to work in Canada. Anyone, please help me solve this problem. Thanks!

If you changed the ISP from the one you usually connect right click on the NET CONNECTION Icon in the lower right part of your screen (Near the clock) and click on View available wireless networks and choose the ISP net that you usually connect. Help this helps you out!

I suspect your wirelss set up now has 2 configurations in its list of acceptable configs, one for Canada and one for California. When you went to Canada, you changed the config to accept Canada's system. Now back in California, the notebook wants to access the Canada setting rather than the proper California setting.

Go into you wireless configurations; I suspect you will see the two; select the other and all should work.

If there is only 1 setting, you will need to change it for the California needs. This is not likely but not unheard of either.

Exactly what is the problem? What did the shop do to clear your virus? Have you got a switch to turn it on, or do you need a Fn key combination? Have you checked that all drivers are working in the Device Manager?
