Your ISP controls your IP. Even if dynamically assigned. When your modem connects to the internet it asks for and receives an IP your router then converts that IP to a Local IP for you. Now in some cases logging into the router and releasing and renewing the WAN (internet) IP will draw a new IP as will unplugging the MODEM and waiting a bit then replugging it. However, MOST ISP's use routers to issue those addresses and those routers setup tables of IPs to Modems etc. So in many cases when you reconnect you will get the same IP. This is normal, there is NO CORRECTION for that unless your ISP clears the router tables on their system!

Guess my question is why do you need a different IP on demand? My bet is that your ISP will ask the same question if you call them.

So to answer your question, no it can't be done with just your router unless you are talking your LOCAL IP address which you can change anytime you want. Just enter a static one on your computer anywhere within the local network range. That does not affect your Internet IP in any manner!

To make your IP change you would have to switch off the router, wait 10 minutes and switch it back on.
