I want to move into a new condo in Thailand. They have Wifi and I will be the only one on the network for now but in the future there might be more people moving in.

And then we will be sharing the signal, will that slow it down or it makes no difference on Wifi how many people are piggy backing the signal?

The short answer is probably you will see slow down as users are added.

There is one feed line that is limited to its rated size. If more than one user is simultaneously downloading something, the capacity is divided among all users so the effective rate per user is slower.

For light weight uses like e mail (with only small or no attachmets), simple web browsing, etc you will not likely notice it.

However if several are downloading major files you will feel it.

This is the logic:
wired or wireless connection
the more users in the network >> more traffic, therfore, slower browsing (downloading and uploading).
