I have had verizon DSL for 3 or so months and never had any issuses all of the sudden I started getting static on the phone lines then this morning whenever I went to pick up the phone my internet droped. I have one line in the house, from the wall jack I have the 1-for-1 adapter on one side I have the internet cord and on the other I have a DSL Filter going to another 2-for-1 adapter and two phone lines in that. That way did not start giving me issuses up unto afew days ago. When I unplug the internet phone line the static goes away, and when someone uses the phone the Internet Dropes.

Verizon Tech support said the the filter went bad, I tryed all five that they sent me when You first get the service and I still get the static, they said it could be a bad pack and wanted me to order more.

Does anyone think that this is it or it is something else?

It's could be bad filters, but it may be a line quality or jack issue that a telephone service technician needs to fix. Normally, regular use of the phone doesn't interfere with DSL or vice versa.

Try getting a new filters from radio shack or Ebay, and replace all the ones currently in use. If that doesn't help, time to schedule a service call...

For those waiting on FIOS, it will take years assumig you are not living in a building with a minium of one hundred or more, I questioned someone off the record. I do live in NYC where only high rise buildings has FIOS at present. Good luck.

We dumped Verizon DSL last week, too flaky and too slow. We'll be on cable modem until FIOS shows up, I guess.
