Are all the ABOVE answers confusing? They are all correct!
Which IP do you want to find? Your computers LOCAL IP or your Internet IP? If you are behind a router or a "NAT" modem then these will be two different IP addresses! If your line connects directly and your computer gets a public IP then all of the above will give the same address BUT
To find your local IP use the instructions for local ipconf etc
To find your Internet IP use the http://whatismyip.com the number that shows is your Internet IP.
IF BOTH ARE THE SAME you are directly connected to the internet, if they are different (and they are in most cases today) you are behind a router/modem that uses network address translation!
Hope that helps.

hit the start menu and click run
type cmd and click ok this will start the comand prompt
type ipconfig and it will show you your IP address to the server or router you are connected to, this will also have its own IP address and so on.
