I'm wondering if I can go out and buy another WRT54G router and hook it up in an adjacent room as a bridge to extend my wireless connection. I know there are range extenders and other things of the such out there, but I want to do this with these routers if possible. (They are cheap here!)

Has anyone done this?

I have a device that I am trying to get wireless, and has an ethernet port, but no windows compatability for usb devices.
Is there anything out there where you can run a short Category5 network cable out of a nic and then go into a wireless box that would connect to my router?

Just got a cable modem to hook up to the internet yesterday. When it came time to plug in the ethernet cord I noticed my apartment only has the normal phone line plug. I don't have an ethernet plug. Is there something I can buy to plug into the phone line that makes it larger so I can connect the ethernet cord????

I am traveling outside the US and need to know if I'll be able to vpn into my work network or not. Are there any restrictions to using vpn internationally when in an internet cafe or such? Anyone know of anything that might cause a problem from using a public connection. I just need to be sure the vpn will work, i understand the security might be lowered since it's a public network. Thanks!

I have a great net connection and want to offer it to customers free of charge but dont want it to go out to anyone just my customers. Ive heard of pubs giving codes out when someone buys a drink that entitles the user to 30 mins access. How do I achieve this?

Hi,

I had to delete my existing windows xp as there was allsorts of problems with it, and install a fresh xp using the CD that came with the computer.

Now that i have installed XP there are drivers missing.

I cant connect to the internet, under the 'Network Connections' window there used to be a heading called "LAN or Highspeed internet" with our cable modem connection underneith, but now all it has is a heading which says "broadband connections".

I wrote down the properties of the connection a while ago, it appeared as "SiS 900" under the device manager, but it doesnt show up there anymore.

I have googled "SiS 900" and found a driver, will it be safe to download from another computer and install in on mine? Will this get the internet working??

Also our computer does not recognise any USB hardware. USB does not even appear under devices!

Whats going on?

Hm, yeah, a game in Taiwan (Specifically, Maple Story TW) has blocked access from a load of countries, I'm wondering, other then using a proxy (It's hell to find a proxy based in Taiwan), is there any way to hide it and make it 'look like' I'm using an IP from Taiwan? (Without changing the address with any program, simply putting a 'fake' layer on it) Currently, I'm in Thailand, behind a boarding school's router, I've already tried several proxies but no avail.

P.S> Please, don't tell me to go Global or SEA, I got a high level char in TW version, and tyhe aforementioned versions are far behind, as well as filled with nubs and hackers.
