So to start off you need to have atleast two computers networked together on the same domain.

Alot of this depends on how your network is set up. Are you setup on a domain?

First of all, make sure the computer is accepting remote connections. Right click on My Computer and go to properties. Select the Remote tab and make sure the checkboxes are checked.

If that's not it, the only other thing I can think it would be this early in the morning is the Windows firewall blocking the remote connection. Your best bet it to disable the firewall on the remote computer.

You need to make sure that remote access is enabled on the remote computer:

Right Click on My Computer>Properties - Select the 'Remote' Tab and Tick the box that says 'Allow people to connect to this computer remotely'

Also, occasionally, you need to disable the Windows Firewall (on the remote computer)

If you want to connect to a computer from another you will need software to act as a remote, Same is true witha server, you need to be able to log on especailly if the computer you are trying to connect to is a VPN.
Some will require 2 seperate long ins.
One to connect to the server and the 2nd CSID will allow you to then get to the computer to share with.

Hi. There is a free software out there that may help you. You can get it at LogMeIn.com. Get the free version, and you can remotely control your PC from any other PC.

I've used it for over a year, and love it!

I wrote an article about it in my blog at http://www.garyfarnam.org

Hope this helps!
