First lets check the connectivity.
Connect to the router via the supplied network cable.
check for net connectivity.
If not, you have an access problem not related to the router.
If so, disable the security, and try connecting wirelessly again.
If not, router problem (likely), if so, then it is down to your 'security settings', which many people do get wrong.

attempt connecting once you're next to the on the spot router. If it nonetheless would not paintings then you definately've some thing misconfigured. If it works next to the router yet no longer in yet another room then there could be some thing interfering with the sign like steel beams in the wall or some thing. It takes extremely some endurance to get on the spot to paintings the way you want it to.

Read The Friendly Manual (RTFM) for your router and follow the installation instructions and “How To's” to the letter. Pay attention to WPA.
Still Stuck?
Call the router manufacturer for tech support.
And then, call your ISP.

Check you fire wall settings. It may need to be turned off . Check both the fire you have with any security program and the one that comes with the computer. Also, make sure the security is set up to let you out and in.
