I mean when you hide the files and folders on your local machine, it doesn't mean they're hidden on the network too? Then why there is such thing called 'hidden'? Can anybody explain?

Ok, I cant get DSL at my house. But my neighbor 2 houses down can get it. He lives about 1/10 or 1/5 of a mile from me. Is there a way to get a wireless router strong enough to get the signal to my house? And can I use this for Xbox Live?

Thanks!

I do not have internet access where I live. I am interested in purchasing Nextel's wireless plan which will help with my laptop, but not with my desktop. (Desktop does not have the card slot for the wireless card.)
Is there any way to hook-up my laptop to my desktop and have internet service on my desktop?
Thanks!

Hi, my and my friend were having a discussion about being wireless while your ISP is AOL Broadband.

What I'd like to know is, say you had a desktop pc and a laptop set up (desktop pc was wired, laptop was the one wireless) with AOL Broadband, would you have to install the AOL software on both of them? and would you have to open AOL up on your laptop to get access to the internet?
My friend says you don't. But I'm pretty sure you do. Who's right?

Also, could the screen name that the desktop pc always signs in as, be used on the laptop at the same time? (In other words, could two people on different computers get on the same screen name at the same time?)

Thanks. Please answer both of these if possible.
Will be sure to give 10pts for the best answer.

my network administrator allows only a specific MAC address
to access the network but im unable to change mac address of my Ralink RT256121 Wireless card, using windows vista ultimate with latest driver for the wireless adapter.
i have tried to change it from registry as well as from other tools and also checked in the advanced properties but there is no option for localy administered address or Network Address.
tell me some options like any universal driver that allows it, any virtual driver, bridging to my ethenet adapter which is allowing to change the mac address. I know its the driver's fault as i have successfully changed the mac address in xp with the same card but i dont want to switch to xp.My wlan driver release date is 05/11/2007. it is the latest one. plz help me
