If you have a certain virus blocker, it may block you from your router. Happend to me, but that may not be whats wrong.

OK

If you where connected to the Internet through your computer prior to having the router then the issue is simple and I hope you have a router with MAC cloning.

Some Hi-speed service providers when you first setup your Hi-speed connection take and use the original MAC address and store it in the modem so you can only have one PC using the connection at a time because that's what you bought.

If the router was an after thought and now you want to connect more machine and use the router go to your router config screen and see if you have a MAC Cloning option some where do this from the original computer you started using the Internet through. When you find it just simple enable MAC cloning and pick the original computer MAC address.

Everything should work fine after that.

If you don't have MAC cloning on your router you may have to call you hi-speed provider and have them reset your modem.

The info looks ok to me.

I presume you have a modem that connects to the router or pc. You indicate you can connect on the LAN side which suggests that you can ping the router default gateway, 192.168.1.1 in your case and receive 4 successful replies. If you have not tried this, do it (open command prompt [start - run, type in run and hit enter] and type in "ping 192.168.1.1" without the quotes and with the space between ping and the ip address. If you receive 4 successful replies the LAN side is working.

Now try "ping 4.2.2.2" and hit enter. If you get 4 replies you are connected to the internet. If not see next paragraph. If you are successful, then try "ping yahoo.com" and hit enter. If you are successful all should work and you have a firewall blocking things - open the firewall to fix it. If you are not successful then the DNS is not correct - check with the ISP.

If you do not get a ping 4.2.2.2 response, turn off the router and modem and downstream pcs. After at least 0.5 minute turn on the modem and wait for at least 0.5 minute and then turn on the router. After at least 1 minute turn on the pcs and try again to ping 4.2.2.2. If this fails, replace the modem - router CAT5 with a cross cable (or if you are using a cross, replace it with a straight cable). and try the ping 4.2.2.2 again. If things do not work with the cable change reboot modem, router, pc with the new cable.

If none of this works, write again telling us what you did and we can be more helpful.

I recommend you to go through the following link and check whether it is configured properly or not:

99.99% of the reason you can connect to the router but unable to get through the router boils down the WEP key... many.many, many folks has miss typed the wep key and think they are connected... but cannot web...

verifiy the WEP key. and try to re-conenct to the network...
