before you connect your 2 pc in LAN using crossover ethernet cable
this are the requirements
1. lan card or ethernet card
2. utp cable(cat5e)
3. rj45
4. crimping tool
and visit this http://www.incentre.net/incentre/frame/ethernet.html for the diagram or sample on how to make crossover cable.
If finished making the crossover over cable connect the rj45 to the ethernet port of you ethernet card that is installed your pc.

yeah thats right, If u have ethernet cards on both the computers and if u wanted to make a direct connection between both the computers. then u need to put a cross cable between those computers.
