I set up a VPN on my Server at work and I can successfully connect to it from home. I only need the VPN to connect to the domain and access certain files. However, while I'm 'surfing' the Internet, while the VPN is still connected, is that traffic passing through the VPN or my regular Internet connection? I don't want to unnecessarily eat up bandwidth on my server.

I have my wired internet connection and my neighbor has a wireless one which I can connect to. I was wondering can I use both connections at once to combine them and make one faster connection. Im connected to both right now as I type but dont know how to configure this if possible. For references we both have the same ISP and same download and upload speeds.

Ok, so I am good with computers in general, but my weakness is Networking by far. so........

1) We had someone set up our network for us, I have no idea how to add a comptuer to my network when I can see my network in "view workgroup computers".

2) I want to set up a server for everyone to be able to save documents on it.

3)Is there any way to combine two networks in the same house to act as one?

4)If I am hosting a website, is a switch safer to use than a Hub?

I need to know how to do everything in the list above, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

thanks!

Is there a way to connect to internet using 2 different connections from a single pc to boost surfing speed? Long back when there was 14k modems was norm i did read about a company which marketed a modem which used 2 telephone lines to give you 28k speed! Those days 28K was like today’s T3 or better connection! I have on my disposal one GPRS connection and a 56K dialup modem connection

Here is my question.... I have an IP-PBX in my network, along with a lot of computers also and we are all connected to internet. Our ISP has a very bad quality for VoIP services, so we want to buy a dedicated E1 for only VoIP Services... the problem is that we need to merge 2 networks so outgoing calls from IP-PBX go thru the E1 and internet data such as surfing and stuff, thru the normal ISP.

How can I do this?

Thank you for your help.

In my taxi cab I use a laptop for multiple jobs, including mapping and playing music videos. I would like to add a second one, using the 15" HD drop down screen as the primary, a wireless keyboard, with mouse pad, for control. This would allow the customers to select their own videos for play.

I have Sprint broadband wireless on my Sony Laptop, so I would like the second laptop to remote access the internet through it. I currently have 3000 videos.

A taxi cab in Austin has 14,000 videos, but he uses a desktop computer in a full size van with extended top and has dance poles.

I want to logon to a network machine, I have the ID and password, in DOS, I am using the NET USE command.

Then, it asks for the username and password, which I know and I enter and authenticate.

Now I need to automate by using Batch, passing the username and password in thebatch, so that, user doesn't have to put in the authentication.

I have just moved into a home that was prewired for a home network using Cat5e and a USTec home run center. All connections inculding phone, network and cable TV come to the UStec box. The bad part is the previous owner did not install the home network compoents in the UStec box. This should be easy enough. I thought I would put my own router and DSL modem in the box and just make the RJ45 connections on the cable, which I've done. The problem now seems to me that I can't get a signal to the Modem. The phone section of the panel is configured with one inline and 8 pluges that are output lines; meaning that each one goes to phone in the house. When I pull the plug from an out port and plug my DSL modem I am expecting a signal just like I get when I plug into the phone wall outlet; what I get is nothing, no DSL signal. Am I don't this correctly? if not please explain.
