I have a wireless router now that is a 802.11g router and I want to know how or can I get my Internet to work with a 802.11n router. Or is it as easy as buying a new N router and replacing the G router? And how do I know if my adapter will receive the N router?

Wireless N routers are downward compatible!! So even wireless 802.11 b is compatible with wireless N standard..
It does support wireless 802.11g gracefully!!

No dilemma.. Close your eyes and go for N.. It is the future..
It offers 4 times the speed and 4 times the range compared to wireless G and also avoids dead spots..

Yes, you need to replace the router with an "n" router.
All "n" routers also support "g" so you don't have to replace your adapter, but you will still be operating a "g" network till you replace the g with an n adapter.
You will find an immediate improvement by just changing the router and still running on g.

Yes, replace the G router with the pre-N router should do it.

Your adapter will NOT receive the pre-N router. You need new adapter to use pre-N router, unless your pre-N router is backwards compatible (i.e. also acts as G router).

Keep in mind that N standard is not yet approved, so you'll need to update firmware and such when standard IS approved.

it is just as easy as swapping the router you adaptor will receive and send to the n router fine but you will not get the advantages from using the n router unless you get a adaptor that accepts 802.11n
