In my taxi cab I use a laptop for multiple jobs, including mapping and playing music videos. I would like to add a second one, using the 15" HD drop down screen as the primary, a wireless keyboard, with mouse pad, for control. This would allow the customers to select their own videos for play.

I have Sprint broadband wireless on my Sony Laptop, so I would like the second laptop to remote access the internet through it. I currently have 3000 videos.

A taxi cab in Austin has 14,000 videos, but he uses a desktop computer in a full size van with extended top and has dance poles.

As long as both laptops have ethernet ports you can use internet connection sharing on the one with the Sprint card.

The second unit would connect using a crossover ethernet cable to the first unit and it would be able to access the internet.

There are several good articles on using internet connection with a "wireless card" which is what you are wanting.

Good luck.

Yes all you need is a crossover cable. you can buy one at most computer stores and setup remote desktop. The cable can also be wired in by any computer cabler. The instructions for setting up remote desktop is in the help file on your computer.

You can access network between these two laptop without having a router.
you need to make one laptop as server for another one,
Create a AdHoc network between them and they will be connected to each other.

for internet access on second laptop you need to enable packet forwarding and do Internet Connection Sharing on first laptop.

now you will be able to access internet on both laptop, i hope this will help you.
