Hi, ive just tried to link my xbox 360, with the internet, using a cable not wireless. But it wont work, it says that the ip address is fine, but i need to get the correct DNS code/number (not sure exactly what it is) So could anyone tell me where and how i can get it please. THANKS

Ok easy answer.
on your pc click start>run
type cmd
press OK
type nslookup
press enter and it will tell you your current DNS server name and IP

The network connector should be set to obtain the IP address automatically and the DNS automatically.

Your router, regardless of whether it is wireless or wired should be set up to provide IP addresses via DHCP.

The DNS addresses are provided to the router by your ISP just like the IP address is when the WAN IP is dynamic.

look in your router/hub manager or similar(i don,t know what you use) and go into setup administrtion then take each step and by default it will tell you the dns number you want. if you are using a router/hub using bt then you can change settings to enable you to do this by user name admin and password admin(good luck)
