I currently have AT&T and I have 3.072 Kbps. The new internet service provides Package #1( 512 Kbps Uploads-7 Mbps Downloads) and package #2 ( 1 Mbps Uploads-12 Mbps Downloads).

Compared to what I have now of 3.072 Kbps, which package is comparable to what I have?

Package 1 is closer to what you have now, even though it's way better. I'd go with package 2. It'll be worth the extra money. You'll be flying!

3.072Kbps is really slow, like worse than than the worst dial-up modem. Dial-up modems over phone lines work run at 56Kbps.

Do you really have 3"," 072Kbps which could also be written as 3.072Mbps?

K= x 1,000 (thousand)
M = x 1,000,000 (million)

Between the two packages you've listed #2 is the higher performance. Suspect is carries a higher price tag too?
