I am moving in with my girlfriend and we now will have two computers. I was unsure if we should try to get a seperate phone line or use some other device for my computer. I hear people say use a wireless connection but I don't know how that works. I would like for some to explain which might be best. We both use our computers alot for work and entertainment. Can someone please offer options?

Okay, so i have a cable internet connection. i play xbox live on my xbox 360 directly from the modem. I would like to play on another tv in my house, so i need to buy a wireless router. My concern is: can i set a password for my wireless network on my xbox 360? another question is: would a wireless bridge be better? And how does a wireless bridge work? If someone could answer my networking questions in terms of using my xbox 360 I will be very grateful! thank you.

but the second computer was not responding to internet connection. For the first computer i tried the TCP/IP connection with the IP as 192:168:0.1,Subnet mask was 255.255.255.0 and default gateway as 192.168.0.2 and for the second computer the ip was the same as the default gateway of the first PC while the default gateway was the IP of the first PC... Is there anything more to be configured to make the second computer to connect to the internet? My ADSL modem is connected to the first computer and can it be done with "obtain an ip address automatically"? I dont have a router because i know both computers can be connected without a router any more suggestions or what can i do about the second computer to connect to the internet....Thats a lot

I know that there are lots of similar questions around and I've already been looking around however none were of any help to my problem.

My desktop computer, which is directly connected to my broadband modem, works just fine, but it's my laptop that can't connect to the Internet through my new wireless router.

I just bought the new TP-Link 108M Wireless Router TL-WRG642G and it's connected to a Prolink ADSL2+ Modem/Router. The TP-Link Wireless Router didn't come with any UTP cables and so I bought 2 kinds of cables just to be sure. I have a straight UTP cable and I have a crossover one. Which one do I use to bridge it to the Prolink router?

Anyway, the TP-Link Wireless Router is detected by my laptop. My laptop's TCP/IP is already set to automatic. My SSID and WEP are configured without any problems. Basically the laptop connects to the Wireless Router. The problem is that there's no Internet passing through.

Please help! Thanks so much!

my desktop just had a virus,i think a trojan. i got rid of it but now i have limited or no connectivity. i tried repairing but it says it cant renew my ip address. i also tried unchecking the 'show me the limited or no connectivity' in the properties section, still no internet. i also installed a patch, still nothing. i know it is not the router or internet service because i moved my computer from the house to another place. so what should i do?

I just bought a new laptop and would like to connect to my existing internet service (from Telus). I'm thinking of getting a wireless router and adapter. Does any wireless router and adapter work or do I need to buy only from the internet provider company? thanks.

Here's the details: HP Photosmart 3210 Printer
Belkin Wireless G Router
The printer is connected by USB to the desktop computer.
I can get online via the network from the desktop or the laptop.
When I try plugging the printer's ethernet cable into the router, it seems to disrupt the whole network and I can't even get online. It says"little or no connectivity."
By the way, the network is screwy too. It randomly goes offline and i have to unplug the router and plug it in again.

What's going on?

I have D-Link DI-524 router and want to share a VPN connection between my laptop and PC, but this http://whirlpool.net.au/index.cfm?a=h_view&model_id=281 description page says that it doesn't have PPTP client, but have some PPTP passthrough...
