My hosting provider says that i need to change the permissions, where do i do this at?

The easy way is to log in using SSH and check what persmissions are set using ls -la..

if you cant do that set the permissions using FTP.. most FTP programs allow you to change file permissions .

You need to make your webpages 755 in most cases.
