I have D-Link DI-524 router and want to share a VPN connection between my laptop and PC, but this http://whirlpool.net.au/index.cfm?a=h_view&model_id=281 description page says that it doesn't have PPTP client, but have some PPTP passthrough... Does this mean that I won't be able to set my router to do my PPTP connection for me?

You need a router that will support its own PPTP connection or you can only pass one PPTP on one machine. So get a different router with internal VPN support. Wish there was a better way but for two machines in one location the router will have to make the connection.

If you only need to use ONE machine at a time then you can use your DI524 you just set up the VPN connector on each machine, be sure to disconnect one when you want to use the other.
