I have port forwarded Ares and the first time i did it, i managed to get pretty good DL speed...about 20kb to 30 for downloading songs and up to 100kbps for a movie that is about an hour and a half long.

However, the 3rd day, my dl speed just didnt stay that way...it went to the same as before.

I tried to port forward to other ports but its not working!

What is wrong? Can someone pls help! will appreciate it a lot!

Hi does anyone know how to block internet access on certain computers running off a server. I work for a small company with about 10 pc's running off a main server. We all have internet access but am getting tired now of telling my young assistant to get on with some work and stop talking to his mates on msn.

I have admin rights on the server and have had a look in server management but can't seem to find anything. Have had a look on our router but there doesn't seem to be anything in there where I can restrict his IP address.

I can't disable his lan connection as this would mean he couldn't access the server for company info. Oh, and unticking msn in windows firewall doesn't stop it connecting.

Please don't say to get rid of the assistant, he's only young and anyone reading this who chats constantly on msn whilst being paid then bear in mind how you would feel if you was the boss.

My home has 3 computers in it. All connected by a Linksys 4 port wireless router. The main computer that has the router itself goes at roughly 150 KB a second. However the others, well the one I use at least, runs at only 6, to 12, KB a second. It uses a Linksys wireless adapter to connect, is there any way to speed up my internet connection? I'm tired of being kicked from online games or disconnected when using this computer and its slow speed, and it isnt a firewall blocking it, as all the computers have the same brand of firewall.

I have DSL connection and can't figure out why i can't get internet upstairs. ALSO when i downloaded all the software for the Netgear i did it on the vista computer. I am thinking I may should have downloaded something on this computer. Instructions vague and can't understand tech support people. It seems to me that i should have to download software on this xp computer since the router is connected to it. and the software for the wireless adapter software on the vista comp.
