I really need help because this is the reason why my iPod is not being recognized...please help

sounds like you need to reinstall some drivers. did you reformat your computer recently or something? do a search on the internet for ieee 1394 host controller and you should be able to find some drivers you can download for free. if that doesn't work, feel free to e-mail me and we can go from there. good luck!

IEEE 1394 is firewire. Your computer is looking for a firewire port, which it sounds like you don't have.

you have no firewire. or you mayhave the port, but there is no controller hardware for it. but that doesnt make much sense. most likely you do but need to update the driver.

It means you should have gone USB instead of Firewire.

It's telling you that either you don't have a firewire card, or that yours isn't functioning properly.

Get into the BIOS and set it enable.
