Have you setup the router to connect to your internet provider? there are two connections happening in the router. One is from the router to the broadband modem, the other is from the router to your computer.
The excellent connection is the connection between the router and your computer. You need to setup the router to talk to your broadband modem also. Refer to the installation guide that came with your router.

Check the cables from the modem that your ISP - Internet Service Provider - gave you and that should work.
