I usually convert Word documents with pdfonline.com.
I need to protect some of them in order to prevent to be copied and modified (copy and paste function).
My documents need to be available online and therefore I can protect them with a password: it'd be to complicate to give it to the "right" people and besides I want them to be readable freely.
Pdfonline.com doesn't offer this option; what should I do?
I'm not very practical with computers so please be clear if you can...

HI. Situation. I have a Wap54g Ver 3 hooked up to a workgroup switch and the switch to the 327w. Now in order for the acess point to work it has to be connected to a swtich right? well whenever i run setup it wont detect the acess point. My wiring is correct. Also I have forgoten the password to my modem. and verizon isint helping me getting it back help please?

I feel like an idiot having to ask since I'm a computer admin..but I've never really dealt with wireless cards.

I have a tower with a wireless card in it, also a brand new laptop with wireless capabilities.

Put simply I'm clueless as how to network them togehter.

Do I need a router or can the simply connect directly as I can do with Cat-5?

Kindergarten language not needed...but...if necessary I'll deal with it.

I have the following setup components:
- Huawei SmartAX MT882 modem from BSNL dataone broadband
- Netgear wireless router WGR614v7
- Windows XP desktop (P4, 3.2GHz)
- Windows XP laptop (Intel centrino M 1.8 GHz)

My connection/configuration works fine from the modem directly to the desktop/laptop. I am able to access internet. Now, I need to connect the modem to the wireless router so that I can surf the net from both laptop and desktop. I am not able to do it.
I have tried the following, but these do not work:
- tried the Netgear wizard setup
- tried the steps exactly as in:
http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-broadband/127-making-bsnl-dataone-wireless-home-network-guide.html
- tried myself to configure the modem and router with no luck

Can anyone help in this regard?

my internet has been going slow. it was really fast but now it goes dial up speed. on my wii and ps3 internet browsing is fast, but not on computer. on the computer im having trouble browsing web really slow. how can i get original speed back? what do u think caused this? could it be because my modem has been disconnected from wires on accident too many times (little baby sister pulls on cables)? how can i fix this?.

I f someone loges on to your system is it possible for them to edit the files in my desktop and how i can set the computer so that they need my permission to logon to system.
This is a mac platform and I am new to mac.Can some one explain this in detail.or do you need some more details to answer this question?

We already have a wireless router and we're trying to do this NETWORKING thing with our desktop and not sure how to do it. We would like to know if there is an adapter for the aircard to go into the wireless router that we have and how much they usually are? AND can we disconnect the aircard from the router and just put it in our laptop and say take it with us in the car?

I have a friends computer here im trying to get her connected to wireless....i plug the card in the computer says it reads it but when i bring up IE it ssays page not found. I also tried plugging it into my lan line but but when i do this the computer DOES not read it under network connections it says im not connect under lan. Any help? Maybe i need some drivers for the wifi card?

We really want broadband but are in a rural area and this was the ONLY option left. So we got the aircard but don't know if we'll be able to make the desktop upstairs in our kids' room (basically I guess do this network thing we've heard of) get broadband also. We're getting the aircard tomorrow and would like to be prepared to shut the dial up down if at all possible and luckily the monthly bill actually ends tomorrow. So can anyone help us figure out how to NETWORK if it even will this aircard into our desktop?

I am using a laptop and therefore, I have wireless internet connection. The problem is that my laptop is picking up the signal from my home router/host computer but it is unable to make any connections. I think the problem might be that the adapter on the host computer has a different name than the one that is on my laptop. If so, how do I change it so that they are both the same?

Another resolution I am thinking of is that when I go to "internet connections" from the control panel and under where it says "LAN/Hispeed," there is a "lock" image next to my network" Does that need to be unlocked, and if so how do I do it?

If that isn't the problem, does anyone else have any ideas on what could be wrong and how I could correct that?

Hello there,

I'm after a new router, and am thinking about either of these two Linksys ones, but I'm not sure which.

One is cheaper, but looks a lot better, while the more expensive one is more flexible with a lot of great firmware upgrades that multiply the speed of it.
