We really want broadband but are in a rural area and this was the ONLY option left. So we got the aircard but don't know if we'll be able to make the desktop upstairs in our kids' room (basically I guess do this network thing we've heard of) get broadband also. We're getting the aircard tomorrow and would like to be prepared to shut the dial up down if at all possible and luckily the monthly bill actually ends tomorrow. So can anyone help us figure out how to NETWORK if it even will this aircard into our desktop?

Your best bet is to get a wireless card for your desktop PC & a router that reads the wireless PC card. An example would be found here: http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/kr1-router/

Another leading manufacturer is Top Global:

im assuming its a aircard from a telco like verizon, sprint, cingular one of them.

You cant put the aircard in the desktop b/c it does not have the correct slot for it

one option is u can have the aircard in the laptop and share its internet connection with the other computers in the house, but u will need a wireless router, and a wireless adapter at every computer that does not have one , like most desktops, most new laptops have them though

the second option is to buy a pcmcia usb adapter for ur desktop but they r rly expensive, like $300
