hi, I want to add a printer with a network card to a workgroup.
How do I do it.
I didnt get a driver with it.

things that I did with the printer...
I tried giving IP address & disabled DHCP & left the DNS ip & DNS host names blank as they are not available in workgroup.

what I did with PC...
then I tried add printer wizard in control panel (win xp) But the printer wasnt listed as a network printer.
Next I used the Add Hardware wizard to add it manually by confguring ports & evrything... But still didnt work... :(
Can any one help me with this...

p.s - Printer is Konica Minolta 7222

Thank you.

The sent and received packets on my machine have crossed more than 3,00,000 within 15 mins of the system being booted. Is this an indication of virus in the machine? If so wat is the best possible solution to this problem. Is it something to do with the network card?

A few protocols include Wi-Fi, mobile broadband, FireWire, TCP/IP, and SNA. I need to list 10-15 for class cant think of any more does anyone know some ? I think there are many protocols due to the amount of diffrent computer systems that we have at our disposal today. Is that right? Will the number of protocols increase or shrink over time?

Even when the laptop is not in use, I don't know if is because of the router or if is just a coincidence and something else is causing the problem

Alright..
So we have a Network with fixed Ips, and in our lil front office we decided we wanted to add a wireless router so we could move around with some of the laptops.
WE dont really have on sight IT people, we basicaly have a company that sets stuff up and certain people have responsibilites.
So The lady that Can go on the network and allow an IP got one for us.
We plugged the wireless router in, and went into the setting and changed to default IP to the one we were assigned, did all the DNS/subnet blah blah stuff as required.
How we hooked it up was we had an ethernet cord frunning from one comptuer to the wall, ew put a ethernet switch on that and ran one to router and one to a compupter already networked/on workgroup, it worked fine.
After setting were in Router we could see it and log on to it via wifi.
So thats all golden.
Do we need alowed IPs for each computer? Or just tell it to access workgroup some how? ..thanks sorry if this is confusing.

I have a laptop and i want to use a remote access software to access my computer at home from a totally different network. I want to be able to access it though a program or over the internet. Does anybody know of any remote access softwares I can use for this. I would prefer the software not be a free trial, cost less than about $50, or if possible free.

I have a lazy kid who plays counterstrike 24/7. I think if I block counterstrike he will take a shower and get a job. I've already forwarded all my ports except 80 both UDP and TCP on the router to a bogus IP address and Counterstrike still works. How do I stop this program from accessing the net? Any ideas?

Windows is telling me that my wireless network connection is 'connected' and its signal strength is 'excellent'. When I open the Windows task manager and go to the networking tab, only the local area connection shows activity and not the wireless network connection.

So basically, I keep the ethernet cord plugged in and I open internet explorer and everything works fine (using Verizon DSL >> Westell Modem >> Ativa Router >> USB Adapter). Then I unplug the ethernet cord and open explorer and it can't access the internet.

My USB adapter's driver is telling me that it is connected and is communicating with the router just fine. I've gone into the router and made sure the MAC address of my adapter is there. all the WPA2 settings are fine. what else could it be??

I'd really like to be able to know how to switch between the LAN and the WAN so that I could watch them register in Task Manager. Then after I see my Wifi is operable, then unplug the ethernet and just go wifi. HELP!
